Les Horees, Savigny Les Beaune Les Plaisirs Et Les Jours, 2023
🏰The 2023 vintage in Burgundy is still very young, with wines likely still in barrel or just bottled, making specific tasting notes scarce. However, early reports suggest a promising year for red Burgundy, with good ripeness and freshness. Les Horées is known for its biodynamic practices and minimal intervention winemaking, aiming to express the purest form of the terroir. This Savigny-lès-Beaune Les Plaisirs et Les Jours 2023, once released, is expected to embody the winery's philosophy of crafting vibrant and authentic Pinot Noir.
🍴 Given its youth, this wine would benefit from being paired with lighter fare. Think pan-seared duck breast with berry reduction, grilled salmon, or a delicate mushroom tart. For Asian cuisine, consider Cantonese roast goose or a light dim sum selection.
🥂 Ideal for a casual gathering with fellow wine enthusiasts eager to explore a nascent vintage, or as an intriguing addition to a tasting flight focused on young Burgundy.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Les Horees is a small winery established in 2019 by the German female owner Catharina Sadde and her French husband Guilhem. From 2010 to 2011, Catharina Sadde went to multiple wineries for internships and went through a series of extensive and complete internships. Then the opportunity came for Catharina Sadde, who acquired a plot of land in Beaune Prèvolles in 2018 and the vineyards in Pommard and Volnay the following year. The winery currently has 1.56 hectares of grape fields, all grown according to biodynamic methods.
