FEATURES
🏰 The 2012 Antinori Solaia, a renowned Super Tuscan red, comes from a vintage characterized by a mild autumn, a dry cold winter extending into spring, followed by important rains, and a hot, dry summer. Rainfall in late August allowed for perfect ripening, resulting in a wine of excellent balance and depth. This vintage was a "year of resistance and reward," with cooler spring temperatures leading to an extended growing period and potent opulence in the grapes. Solaia is the flagship product of the Antinori family, produced only in exceptional vintages, and is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese, and Cabernet Franc (75% CS, 20% S, 5% CF for 2012). The wine exhibits an intense ruby red color with purple highlights. The nose is fresh and intense, dominated by varietal notes of excellent freshness and elegant intensity, with hints of grilled bacon, smoke, toasted black fruit, dried herbs, chary smoke, graphite, toasty oak, black truffle, and violets. The palate offers a classic style with a pleasurable harmony of flavors, a fine balance between acidity and tannins, and high-level fruit that lasts through a lengthy finish. It is full-bodied with well-integrated tannins and strong, balanced acidity, combining fruity elements with spicy notes and underlying oak nuances, leading to an exceptionally complex and vibrant finish. 【 A world-famous Super Tuscan, produced only in exceptional years, known for its harmonious balance, depth, and complex, persistent finish, often receiving high critical acclaim. 】
🍴 This Solaia is an ideal pairing for a variety of rich dishes, including rare, juicy steak, rib eye roast, filet mignon, and rack of lamb. It also complements other red meat dishes, rich tomato-based sauces, braised meats, and Italian cuisine. Pasta with a meat sauce and polenta are natural matches. Mature cheeses are also an excellent accompaniment.
🥂 Perfect for a celebratory dinner, a special gathering with discerning palates, or as a centerpiece for a fine wine tasting. Its grand personality and persistence make it a memorable experience, suitable for enjoying now after decanting for 2-3 hours, or for further cellaring to allow its complexities to deepen.
