Chateau Haut Brion, Le Clarence De Haut Brion, 2020
Red
750ml
Label : Good Label
Level : Neck Level
Capsule : Good Capsule
🏰 The 2020 Le Clarence de Haut-Brion is hailed as 【one of the finest vintages ever produced for this second wine of Château Haut-Brion】, showcasing remarkable resilience and finesse despite climatic challenges. This deep purple-black wine bursts with notions of baked black cherries, blackberry pie, plum preserves, ripe redcurrants, spice cake, smoked meats, and a touch of hoisin. On the palate, it's powerful, rich, and long, with layers of lush, opulent fruits, velvety tannins, and a supple texture, revealing hints of dark chocolate, espresso, and leather.
🍴 Chinese Cantonese food pairing: This exquisite Bordeaux red is perfect with Cantonese roasted squab, braised abalone with shiitake mushrooms, or a rich beef tenderloin with black pepper sauce. For Western pairings, consider classic veal dishes, roasted lamb, or a hearty mushroom risotto.
🥂 fit for event: An ideal choice for a 【celebratory dinner】, a special occasion, or as a promising wine to cellar and enjoy its graceful evolution over the next 10-15 years.
Serving: Young vintages like this can benefit from decanting for 2-4 hours or more to allow its complex aromas and flavors to fully unfold. Serve at 15.5°C (60°F).
BACKGROUND
Chateau Haut-Brion is a legendary First Growth estate in Pessac-Leognan, Bordeaux, with a history dating back to 1525. It is the only First Growth located outside the Medoc. Le Clarence de Haut-Brion is the estate's esteemed second wine, named in honor of Clarence Dillon who acquired the property in 1935. It shares the pedigree and elegance of the Grand Vin, offering complex dark fruit, tobacco, and earthy notes, but is approachable earlier.
