FEATURES
🏰The 2018 San Filippo Brunello di Montalcino Dei Comunali represents a 【classic vintage for high-quality, cooler, fresher Brunello】, offering immediate appeal with its elegance and polished tannins. While some found the vintage anomalous, San Filippo consistently produces wines with a signature combination of ripe red fruit, subtle spice, and polished tannins. The estate, revived under Roberto Giannelli, focuses on terroir expression and meticulous vineyard work. It presents a ruby red color with nuances tending to garnet. The intense, fine, and complex perfume develops on notes of Morello cherry, enhanced by a background of spices like cinnamon and cloves. On the palate, it's full, harmonious, and persistent, with dense and silky tannins, offering red and purple fruits, raspberry, cherry, licorice, rose hip, and eucalyptus. It's medium-bodied with varietal acidity and a fresh, lingering aftertaste.
🍴 This Brunello pairs beautifully with classic Tuscan dishes such as wild boar ragu, roasted lamb with herbs, Bistecca alla Fiorentina, or aged Pecorino cheese.
🥂 Ideal for a sophisticated Italian dinner, a gift for a Sangiovese lover, or a special occasion where a wine with both charm and aging potential is desired. As a young Brunello, it will benefit from significant aging. If drinking now, decant for 2-3 hours to allow it to open up. Serve at 18°C (64°F).
