🏰 The 2012 vintage for Champagne, despite a challenging growing season, was by all accounts excellent. Francis Boulard et Fille's 'Petraea' Blanc de Noirs Brut Nature 2012 is a testament to this, crafted from 100% Pinot Noir, often from 60-80 year old vines, and made in a solera-style perpetual reserve. The name 'Petraea' refers to the sessile oak foudre where the wine is aged. This Champagne is known for its intense and generous nose, offering aromas of fruit, white flowers, and spices. On the palate, it is full and rich, powerful yet retaining a lovely freshness, with notes of brioche, almond, nutty characteristics, apple, peach, and apricot. 【Biodynamic farming and zero dosage for purity of terroir expression】. The Boulard family is committed to organic and biodynamic practices, with Delphine Boulard now vinifying and aging everything in old Burgundian barrels and foudres. This Brut Nature style means no added sugar, allowing the purity and terroir expression to shine through.
🍴 This elegant Champagne is a brilliant food wine. It pairs beautifully with rich fish like salmon or tuna, shellfish, crab, and lobster. It can also complement mild and soft cheeses, poultry, and white meats.
🥂 Ideal for an aperitif to kick off a celebration, or as a sophisticated accompaniment to a seafood feast. Its complexity and freshness make it suitable for special anniversaries, intimate gatherings, or any occasion where a high-quality, expressive Champagne is desired.
